What services and benefits does Edina Plastic Surgery offer that most other practices do not?
Edina Plastic Surgery is one of the few cosmetic surgery practices in the Twin Cities area with its own accredited in-house surgery center. This means that patients have their procedure done on the same floor as our offices—versus driving to a remote location. Our patients also have discreet access to our offices from a back entrance and elevator so they don't have to go through a big medical office lobby for post-op visits. All patients that come in for a major cosmetic procedure such as breast augmentation, lift or reduction, facelift, liposuction or tummy tuck will receive a certificate for a complimentary skin care treatment at our state-of-the-art skin clinic.
How do I choose a surgeon?
First and foremost, make certain that your surgeon is board certified in plastic surgery by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. Our physicians are board certified, are members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and are fellows of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). These certifications mean that your doctor has received the highest level of training available and has passed a series of rigorous examinations. You may also wish to explore the Internet for information and seek referrals from former patients.

What do I do first?
Come in for a free cosmetic consultation. We will review the procedure you are considering, make certain that you are comfortable with your choices and assure that you have a full understanding of the surgical process—from beginning to end.
How much will it cost?
The costs vary by procedure and will be explained to you during the consultation. There are two components to our fees: the surgeon's fee and the facility fee, which includes anesthesia and all supplies.
Are all the surgeries done at the in-house surgery center?
The majority of our elective surgery is done in our fully accredited, state-of-the-art surgery center. You will arrive approximately one hour before surgery and spend approximately two hours after surgery in the care of our recovery room team. We are also affiliated with major hospitals, including Fairview Southdale Hospital just across the street from our clinic. Depending on the type of surgery, we may choose to have it done in a hospital.
What is the recovery time?
Recovery time will vary depending on the procedure and each individual patient. Some patients will return to work after a few days while others may need to take additional time off depending on the type of work they do. Your surgeon may ask that you refrain from your normal exercise regime for three to four weeks following surgery.
Do your surgeons have specialties?
All of our surgeons perform the full spectrum of plastic surgery procedures. In addition, each surgeon has areas of special interest (e.g.—facial surgery, breast surgery, nose surgery) and will, by choice, perform more surgeries in that area of interest.
May I change doctors?
Although you may begin with a specific surgeon, you may see any surgeon during your care. Because we work as a team, we are available to you 24/7 in case of an issue or a problem.
Do you do Botox and hair removal?
The Skin Clinic at Edina Plastic Surgery offers a full range of cosmetic skin care—Botox, dermal fillers, hair removal, skin peels, microdermabrasion, photorejuvenation and laser treatments. We also offer La Roche-Posay, Obagi and Skinceuticals skin care products. Our team of nurses and aestheticians are available to help you look more beautiful. ON-Q System For Pain Management
One of the ways Edina Plastic Surgery helps patients control pain is with the ON-Q system of pain management. ON-Q utilizes a tiny specially designed tube placed by your surgeon during surgery. It allows pain-numbing medication to soak into the site immediately after surgery. It is simple, effective and works for up to four days after your surgery The ON-Q system may be worn discreetly and may accompany you home. The tube is removed when all of the medicine has been delivered.

Minnesota Patient Consent for Disclosures
For most disclosures of your health information we are required by State of Minnesota Laws to obtain a written consent from you, unless the disclosure is authorized by Law, court ordered or subpoena, or for public health purposes through the Minnesota Department of Health Activities. This consent may be obtained at the beginning of your treatment, during the first delivery of health care service, or at a later point in your care, when the need arises to disclose your health information to others outside of our organization.

Get a list of those with whom we’ve shared information: You can ask for a list (accounting) of the times we’ve shared your health information for six years prior to the date you ask, who we shared it with, and why. We will include all the disclosures except for those about treatment, payment, and health care operations, and certain other disclosures (such as any you asked us to make). We’ll provide one accounting a year for free but will charge a reasonable, cost-based fee if you ask for another one within 12 months.
